Ahoy!
and "Mass in Blue"

Joining forces with local childrens' choirs

Following on from our very popular Summer 2016 concert of Zimbe! we will be performing another wonderful, fun piece by Alexander L'Estrange, "Ahoy!" and Will Todd's "Mass in Blue".  "Ahoy!", described by the composer as "an exciting choral cantata that celebrates the rise, fall & rise of Henry VIII's warship the Mary Rose" requires a children’s choir and a band to join with EAC, and fuses the music of Tudor times with sea shanties and original music.

With Alexander L'Estrange's Call me Al Quintet and soprano Lisa Cassidy.

Will Todd's "Mass in Blue" has similar jazz influences and is a brilliant blend of driving jazzy grooves and clear, strong, choral writing, a unique coming together of sacred choral music and jazz.
