The English Arts Chorale are taking part in a very special collaboration with The Ripieno Choir. On Saturday June 18 we performed the first concert of our joint programme Vigil. Reactions from the audience included: ‘it was a beautiful evening’, ‘at times I was deeply touched by the blended sound’, ‘wonderful to hear two such talented choirs come together’. The second performance of Vigil takes place on July 2nd in Reigate.

If you haven’t heard Knut Nystedt’s Immortal Bach, you are in for an absolute treat. For the performers it is as much a counting challenge as a singing one. Spem in Alium with 8 choirs and 40 voice parts showcases Thomas Tallis’s spectacular mastery of polyphony and harmonic counterpoint. Conductor Huw Morgan premiered his Night Prayer a beautiful contemporary canon; hear the second ‘premiere’ at the next performance. EAC are delighted to perform Paul Carr’s The Lamb again which appears on our CD Radiance. The second half of the concert is Rachmaninov’s Vespers which weaves a rich and complex galaxy of choral sound.

Evening time, as night falls, A time of reflection. A time of repose. A time of Peace.
