Join the English Arts Chorale and Brian Kay, conductor, singer and radio presenter, in preparing the Duruflé Requiem and Lauridsen O Magnum Mysterium for an informal performance at the close of the workshop. Both these pieces are part of the English Arts Chorale's repertoire. Compared with other requiems the Duruflé is a calmer and more meditative setting, with many enchanting sections to discover if you are new to the piece. Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium has received much air-play and concert performances since its composition in 1994, and will provide a wonderful opportunity to work on choral sound.
This event is being promoted by The Music Trust using a grant from the BBC's Choral Ambition Fund, whose support we gratefuly acknowledge. We are therefore able to make places available at a cost of just £15. We regret that we are unable to accept any further bookings for the workshop but if you have already booked and would like to ask any questions please contact us at workshop@englisharts.org. A printable pdf version of this information can be downloaded here, please feel free to pass on this information to other people..

Q. – Will there be an age limit for singers? A. – There will be no upper limit but if a singer is under 16 we would ask that they be accompanied by an adult. Q. – What standard of singing do I need to have achieved? A. – We do not want to discourage anyone from attending but would just ask that you consider if you would have gained in some way by your attending. You will be seated next to/near an EAC singer by way of encouragement. Q. – What is included in the £15 fee? A. – This will include music hire and light refreshments. Please bring your own lunch. Q. – Will I be required to stay for the concert? A. – No, but we consider it to be part of the whole experience and would strongly encourage you to stay and maybe even bring your friends and family to show them what you will have achieved! | ||||||||||
