On Saturday 5th December 2009 the English Arts Chorale will present a candlelit performance of Handel's wonderful oratorio Messiah in St Mary's Church, Chart Lane, Reigate.

The English Arts Chorale, founded in 1980, is committed to its mission statement: "To share with everyone the profound human and spiritual experience of great music". Messiah is an ideal vehicle to fulfil this statement ? deeply spiritual and yet accessible.

Under the direction of its founder and musical director Leslie Olive The English Arts Chorale, together with the Camerata of London and a superb line-up of soloists, bring a fresh and joyous interpretation of this well-loved work.

Messiah encapsulates so much of the Christian journey. It begins with words from Old Testament prophets foretelling the coming of the Messiah, takes us through the birth of Jesus, His life, death and resurrection, and concludes with the early days of Christianity and its spread throughout the world, as told in the Book of Revelation.

Get away from the commercialism of Christmas for a while, enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mince pies and hear what Christmas is really about!
